Come, Lord Jesus!

I won't even say this morning that I have the slightest understanding of what is happening in our country. I wish I could catch a glimpse of how this all fits into God's eternal plan. What I can do is trust and that's what I'm doing this morning.

I was chatting with a friend early this morning and commented that at least we had done what we could - pray and vote. Her response made me pause. She wondered if we had in fact done all we could do. Couldn't we pray more? Couldn't we be more bold? Couldn't we look for more opportunities to share our faith?

Yes, we could do more. My prayer this morning is that I will seize those opportunities the Lord gives me and begin to live my life with more boldness as we see the day approaching.

"Yes, I am coming soon!" Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! ~ Revelation 22:20

  1. Mmm. I am in the same place this morning. Except the only people I've talked to are my family. But we need to also pray for those in authority over us.

My 11 year old asked las night (jokingly) if we were moving to Canada. Nope! We're staying here. To pray.

  2. Ahh Angela. I almost feel discouraged this morning -- I look into the future and don't like what I see. But that's not REAL... so I'm trying to take my thoughts captive. I too am praying. I have spoken with my children about the verse that says we should pray, intercede and give thanks for our authorities... even when we don't agree with them.

Will this time in our political sphere build character in us a Christians? It will be interesting to see.

  3. I'm really heavy today. I didn't think McCain was our hero but Obama's values could open up all kinds of apalling possiblities and that's a can of worms I would have liked to have left unopened. I was reading over at Lysa Tyrkhursts blog about the view that this presidency and it's results will call us christians to live out our faith and take stands that we've previously shied away from in a public setting. And with that view I can see good coming from this.
