Joy in my mailbox

A trip to the mailbox can sometimes be just the ticket to brighten my day. A card from a friend lets me know I was on her mind. A statement letting me know our stocks are doing well brings a sigh of relief (OK, that hasn't happened recently). A package containing a surprise stops everything else as I tear into the wrapping.

Today brought the latter - a package from a friend. Even though I knew the contents before I opened it, that did not lessen the excitement. Inside was an autographed copy of my sweet blogging friend Karen's new book Finding Joy - More Confessions of an Irritable Mother. I'm sure I will be able to relate to much of what this fellow irritable mommy has to say and I can't wait to read it. I may even have to forgo tonight's episode of House. Wow Karen, that's a pretty high compliment!

Didn't receive your copy in the mail? You can order your own here.

No matter what stage you may find yourself in on the journey of motherhood, Karen's honesty and transparency will help you find joy in the small things, the loud things, the annoying things, the sweet things, the wet things, even the messy things. It's there. You just have to know where to look.
