Home at last

Roller coasters - bring 'em on...the bigger the better! We spent an absolutely awesome day yesterday at Six Flags. Time with family and dear friends is always a blessing. While not everyone enjoys the thrill of going 0 to 70 in four seconds, we enjoyed just being together. It was a day full of laughter and lots of great memories.

On the way home I was suddenly overcome with a very distinct I had been anticipating, unsure of when it would happen. As I looked out at the Texas skyline, I suddenly realized - I am home. We've been here for just over a year and yet it still felt a bit foreign, like we were simply on vacation. The Lord has allowed our roots to grow down deep into the Texas soil and He has bound our hearts to precious new friends in ways we never could have imagined. I am overwhelmed with thanks.

Here's the cool part. I turned to Mike and told him what I had just been thinking. His eyes widened a bit and he told me that he had been thinking the exact same thing! What an awesome God moment!

Though I miss our Idaho friends and family terribly, I am so thankful to be serving Him here in Texas. He is so good!
