Being a mom is probably one of the most amazing blessings I've ever experienced. Having said that, let me also say it is absolutely the hardest job I've ever done. Sleep deprivation, mountains of laundry, constant prayers, training them in the way they should go...the job description is endless and all encompassing. My kids seem to have a way of bringing out the best and the worst in me. While making me aware of how far I have to go, they are an amazing daily reminder of God's grace...His undeserving mercy poured out on me each and every morning.
Whether you're sitting with a new babe in your arms wondering what the heck you've gotten yourself into, or standing and watching your young person walk into adulthood, we're in the same boat. Each day we're faced with the question of whether we'll sit safely in the boat or step out, our eyes fixed on Jesus, and walk on the water. If it feels like you're sinking today, let me encourage you to fix your eyes on your Savior. Only He can give you what you need to walk this journey called motherhood...and still keep your sanity.
