The dreaded super virus (you know, the one causing epidemics in 49 states) has been camped out at our house for several weeks now. It just doesn't seem to care that it is most certainly an uninvited guest and has overstayed its welcome.
Pink eye has taken up residence as well. Poor Connor. Of course his last basketball game is tomorrow. We're praying for a quick healing, but using this as an opportunity to talk about when God doesn't answer our prayers the way we want. In between his tears yesterday, he asked, "Mom, do you think God may be wanting to see how I will act if I don't get what I want?" I hugged him tight. Such wisdom tied up in that little eight year old heart.
On to other things...can your children burp the alphabet? Mine were practicing yesterday. I must say that as a female I JUST DON'T GET IT...not even a little bit. I guess the next time I'm tempted to compare myself to other homeschool families who "have it all together", I can just say, "Yeah, but can your kid burp his spelling list?"
So sorry you all have been sick. Praying that you all feel better and that Connor does get to play in his game tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the burping goes... I can totally relate. I guess that goes along with having boys. : )
Happy Week-end and hugs,
Julie
We had the fever, cough, sinus infection fun over here. I am just thankful for no puking. That is so neat that your 8yo had such great insight. A lesson for us all. And the burping thing. Yep my son was doing that for a while, but luckily the thrill was short lived.

Burping their spelling list- LOL! My daughter thinks burping letters is funny. She can be such a girly girl most of the time and then she comes up with something like that.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all are feeling better soon.
Ohhhh, I feel a confession coming!
ReplyDeleteWill you still love me if I tell you I can "out-burp" most guys?
I impress my brother, and have for years. Diet Coke does it for me. *grin*
Of course, now that I'm a mom, I think it's disgusting when my kids let one rip and insist they excuse themselves. My husband just looks at me with eyes that say, C'mon, Karen. You know from whom they get that talent.
And, yes. I could burp the alphabet and quite a few other things. I was such a lady!!!
The reason your children are growing in the wisdom of the Lord is because you are training them up in the way they should go! You and hubs are wonderful parents.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Sorry to hear you all have been sick and sorry about the pink eye, but what an amazing insight your son has! Evidence of all the love and nurturing in the Lord you and your husband have done in his life!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd about the burping....well, my middle daughter proudly tells everyone that she wins every burp contest she joins in on....(sigh)
Hugs,
Donna
