My Redeemer Lives

What a beautiful example of the love of a father. How much more does our Heavenly Father care for us? Be blessed!

Ms. Pelosi needs to find another job!

WARNING - POLITICAL SOAPBOX AHEAD

We're all feeling the crunch of exorbitant gas prices at the pump these days. At what point do we put aside our partisanship and look for ways to solve the problems real Americans face? I'm all for protecting the environment, but sending our country into a major recession and keeping us completely dependant on foreign sources of oil from countries who don't particularly care for us is ludicrous.

Ms. Pelosi's adamant resolve against drilling shows quite clearly that she certainly does not represent the voice of Americans. Do you think she is working hard to put gas in two cars, paying an ever increasing energy bill, feed four growing kids while still trying to save for college? Of course not! We are paying her salary. We are paying her to disagree with us and not take a stand for what is best for America's future! WHY are we allowing the opinions of just 27% of the people to dictate how the rest of us must live?

This is an excerpt from an article from GOPUSA.com. To read the rest of the article, go here.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told CNN that she would block any vote to allow offshore drilling. This remarkable stance comes in the face of the latest poll that says 73 percent of Americans favor offshore drilling, while only 27 percent oppose it. Nancy Pelosi again displays her contempt for her employer, the American people. Her arrogance and wrong-headed philosophy have led Congress to an approval rating of a staggering 14 percent, the lowest ever.

OK, I'm climbing down now before I pull a muscle.

God shows up!

God gave me a wonderful opportunity to speak at a ladies retreat this weekend. It never ceases to amaze me what He will do when we are willing. I prepared what I felt He was leading me to share and He showed up in a big way. I felt as if I just opened my mouth and HE did the talking. He's so good that way. I did not know these ladies...I had no idea where they were in their lives or what they were struggling with, but God did. As I sat and listened to their stories, it become so apparent why He lead me to speak on this particular subject. I pray it was an encouragement to them and to their faith.

I am just so humbled and excited to be used by Him to accomplish anything at all. He doesn't need us to do His work, but He allows us to be a part of it and as a result we are blessed. I just can't stop thanking Him and can't wait to see what He will do next!

He is SO GOOD!

It's a blizzard

I have spent most of the day picking up the house and cleaning. Unfortunately, there seems to be an unseen force working against me to mess up what only moments ago was tidy. Their names are "not me", "I didn't do it", "wasn't me" and "I don't know", but they look and act an awful lot like my four lovely children. In the words of the great Erma Bombeck, "Cleaning house with children is like shoveling snow during a blizzard."

Upon asking my oldest son (for the 2nd time in 10 minutes) to do a small task, he replied, "But I didn't make the mess." Apparently there seems to be a small disconnect between his brain and his mouth, causing him to say things he surely doesn't mean.

Ever so calmly (!) I explained to him that I had spent the entire day cleaning up messes I didn't make, laundering clothes I didn't wear, washing dishes I didn't eat on and cooking food I did not consume. After my calm little tirade (yes, that is an oxymoron), I would venture to guess he will never again utter those words in my presence...at least not if he's smart.

Happy birthday Greyson!

I just hugged my six year old for the last time. When he wakes up tomorrow for his morning snuggles, he'll be seven. There's something about not being six anymore. In my mommy eyes, six still seems like a little boy. Seven seems a lot more...grown-up.

Greyson is the delight of my life. A day without a Greyson hug is like a day without sunshine. He has never met a stranger and is often quick to give them hugs soon after meeting. He has brought many smiles to the faces of those on the receiving end of his loving little arms.

He is quick to laugh, works hard to keep up with his big brothers and adores his little sister...most of the time.

Happy birthday Greysonator. I love you bigger!

Chew on this - helping others

Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.
